WEISSER RING

The only nationwide active victim support organisation in Germany. Their volunteers work in accordance to professional standards. The victim support provided by WEISSER RING is based on the idea of offering free help to victims of crime. The victim support workers provide one-to-one assistance in a voluntary and professional capacity. They are independent from state funding and offer more than 390 nationwide local points of contact.

More than 210 women’s emergency hotlines and women’s advice centers belong to the bff. They have been helping women and girls who are victims of violence in a straightforward, sensitive and expert manner for more than 30 years.

Their anti-violence centers offer psychological counseling, legal advice, support groups, training, promotion, awareness and prevention, data collection and processing, guidance for work, collection of bibliographic and documentary material on the themes of violence. The shelter houses, often with a secret address, accomodate women and their minor children for an emergency period.

Taiwan

The Garden of Hope Foundation

Founded in 1988 by a group of Christians who were concerned about the issue of human trafficking of Taiwanese girls. Over the past 30 years, it has expanded from halfway houses for girls to expanding domestic violence, sexual assault and other gender-based violence services. It currently operates in 15 counties and cities across the country. With more than 50 service locations, nearly 20,000 survivors of gender-based violence are served each year to escape the impact of violence and start a new life.

Mor Çatı

The Mor Çatı Women’s Shelter Foundation, founded in 1990 by feminists, combats violence against women using feminist methods. It aims for women to live free from gender-based discrimination and violence. The foundation strengthens women’s solidarity, empowers them through social work, and monitors the implementation of laws. It collaborates with various organizations to share knowledge, promote gender equality, and campaign against patriarchy for women’s independence.

UK

Suzy Lamplugh Trust

The Suzy Lamplugh Trust, established in 1986 after Suzy Lamplugh’s disappearance, is the UK’s leading personal safety charity and stalking authority. The Trust offers training, consultancy, and support services, and it runs the National Stalking Helpline, which has helped over 65,000 victims. It campaigns for greater awareness and systemic change, influencing legislation like the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.

Refuge

Refuge is the largest specialist domestic abuse organization in the UK, providing comprehensive support for women and children experiencing domestic violence. Established in 1971, Refuge offers a range of services including emergency refuge accommodation, community outreach, independent domestic violence advocacy, and culturally specific services. They operate safe houses, known as refuges, across the UK, providing a confidential and safe environment for survivors to rebuild their lives free from fear.

The U.S. National Network to End Domestic Violence’s (NNEDV) Safety Net Project focuses on the intersection of technology and domestic and sexual violence and works to address how it impacts the safety, privacy, accessibility, and civil rights of victims by: working with communities, agencies, and technology companies, educating victim advocates and the general public, training law enforcement and justice systems, social services, coordinated community response teams and others, and advocating for strong local, state, national and international policies.
