In this article we show you what to do if Real-Time Protection scans are not running.

The Problem

You have enabled the Real-Time Protection feature but your device is not being scanned automatically.

The Cause

The Android battery optimization feature is designed to put apps to sleep when not in use in order to save battery. If Real-Time Protection is not running correctly then it may have been restricted by this feature.

The Solution

Disable Battery Optimization for the Certo app.

  1. If the Certo app detects that battery optimization is enabled on your device, it will display a warning on the Real-Time Protection page. Tap the warning and follow the instructions on screen to disable battery optimization for Certo.
  2. Some manufacturers pre-install their own additional battery management tools which can also restrict the Certo app. We are unable to detect these tools so if Real-Time Protection is still not running correctly after trying the above step, then please check your device for additional battery tools.
  3. If you have a Xiaomi device, you may also need to enable ‘Autostart’ for the Certo app. This allows apps to run automatically but it is disabled by default on some Xiaomi devices. To do this, open the Security app from your home screen then tap Manage apps > Permissions > Autostart and tap the slider next to Certo.
