In this article we will show you how to reset your encrypted backup password.
If you have forgotten your backup encryption password, you can reset it by following these instructions:
- On your device, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone.
- Tap Reset then Reset All Settings and enter your passcode.
- Follow the steps to reset your settings. This won’t remove any user data from your device, but it will reset settings like display brightness, Home screen layout, and wallpaper. It also removes your encrypted backup password.
- Your device will now restart and backup encryption will be disabled.
